Week of March 2-7, 2026

We hope you are having a wonderful weekend! It was truly heartwarming to see so many of you at our Family Literacy Night and the District Town Hall Meeting last week. Spending time together and hearing your thoughtful feedback on how we can keep our schools safe and supportive is what makes the Santa Rita community so strong. Thank you for being such engaged partners in your child’s education.

We are excited to start planning our first career day here at Santa Rita Elementary. If you are interested in coming to speak to our students about your career, please reach out to Ms. Garcia to Reserve your spot.

Our second trimester officially wrapped up last week! Our teachers are now busy reviewing assessments and highlighting the incredible progress your students have made. Please note that Report Cards will be sent home on March 16th.

🗓️ Important Dates This Week:

Tuesday, March 3: Monthly Secure Campus Drill. This Tuesday, we will conduct our Secure Campus Drill. We rehearse our safety protocols monthly to ensure every student and staff member is prepared and confident.
Wednesday, March 4: Family Engagement Meeting (Neon Dance Planning). Our Family Engagement Meeting (postponed from last week) is back on for this Wednesday. Join us to help plan this bright and fun event!
Friday, March 6: CBDIO Carnaval! This Friday, CBDIO is hosting their yearly Carnaval. We are so excited to watch the students in our Mixteco program perform their cultural skits!
Saturday, March 7: Our second-to-last Saturday Academy at our school site for all Saturday academy students.

CBDIO Presents...Carnaval 2026

This Friday, CBDIO is hosting their yearly Carnaval here at Santa Rita. We are so excited to watch the students in our Mixteco program perform their cultural skits and provide a space for our Mixtec community to gather, socialize and see their culture represented on the stage.

Fieldtrip season

We are approaching our fieldtrip season for a lot of our grade levels. Parents, if your child's teacher needs a chaperone, please communicate with them if you are available and interested. Anyone going on a fieldtrip with their child MUST register through Raptor at least one week before the fieldtrip. You need to complete the application on our district website and submit a valid TB test result within the last 3 years. If you need any support, feel free to contact our office for additional information.

Yearbooks for Sale!

$35 until 4/17/26

Stop by the office to order your child's yearbook. The last day to purchase a yearbook is April 17, 2026. Get yours before we sell out. Limited quantities available.

Yearbook Dedications for 5th Graders!!

5th grade parents and guardians: Capture your 5th grader's memories!

Half page is $20 and ¼ page is $10.

Half a page ($20) includes two photos and a message for your student (30-40 words)

A quarter of a page ($10) includes 1 photo and a short message for your student (20-30 words).

Come to the office to submit your request and payment.

Hummingbird Highlights of the Week

After an eventful week, we ended with our Principal's recess to celebrate all our scholars who follow our school expectations. Thank you to Ms. Tania for DJ-ing during our principal's recess. Her energy brightened our students afternoon.
