Happy Sunday, Hummingbird Families!
I hope you all had a wonderful and productive first week back from break! It is great to see our students settle back into their routines as we gear up for a very busy and exciting month of April.
🚲 Safety First: MODO Programs
This week, we are focusing on keeping our students safe while they are out and about in our community. We are excited to partner with Ecology Action’s MODO Programs to provide specialized safety training:
- 2nd Grade: Will participate in Walking Safety lessons.
- 5th Grade: Will participate in Bike Safety training. These programs will take place throughout the week to ensure our Hummingbirds are prepared and safe on the road!
🛡️ Shelter-in-Place Drill
As part of our commitment to campus safety, we will be conducting our monthly safety drill this Tuesday. This month’s focus is a Shelter-in-Place drill. We practice these scenarios regularly so that our students and staff feel calm, prepared, and confident in any situation.
🍕 Chuck E. Cheese Fundraiser!
Don't forget! Our final fundraiser of the year is this Wednesday, April 8th, at Chuck E. Cheese from 1:30 PM – 9:00 PM. It’s a great way to celebrate our school community and raise funds for student prizes and events. We hope to see you there for some pizza and games!
Yearbooks: We have a very limited number of yearbooks left for $35! If you haven't pre-ordered yours yet, please do so soon before they sell out. Yearbooks will be distributed during the final week of school.
Summer Academy: Registration is officially OPEN! If your student was recommended for summer learning, or if you'd like to secure a spot for the June 2–June 26 session, please see the registration link and instructions below.
State Testing: Please scroll down to review our SBAC/CAASPP Testing Tips for our 3rd–5th graders as we prepare for the assessments starting next week.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping our students show what they know!
Warmly,
Ms, K & Mrs. Zavala
