mothers day

Week of May 11-16, 2026

Happy Mother’s Day, Hummingbird Families!

Today, we want to start by wishing a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of our incredible mothers, grandmothers, and guardians in the Santa Rita community. Thank you for all the love, support, and dedication you pour into our students every day. We hope you enjoy a beautiful day being celebrated by your loved ones!
🍎 Gratitude for Our Teachers
We also want to extend a huge thank you to our families for the overwhelming kindness shown during Teacher Appreciation Week. Your thoughtful gifts, notes, and gestures truly touched our staff and made them feel so valued. We are lucky to have such a supportive "village" behind our teachers!

📈 i-Ready Diagnostics Continued
This week, our students will continue working on their final i-Ready diagnostic. Our Hummingbirds are doing a great job focusing and showing off their progress. We look forward to celebrating their hard work and growth as we close out these assessments!

🗓️ Looking Ahead: A Busy Final Stretch!
As we move closer to the end of the school year, the excitement is building! We have a lot of fun and important events coming up in the next couple of weeks, including:
  • Fieldtrips
  • School Spirit Days
  • Spring Concert (for 3rd–5th Grade students)
  • Field Days for TK/K & 5th
  • Promotion Ceremonies

Please keep scrolling down for specific dates, times, and more detailed information on all of our upcoming end-of-year celebrations!

Warmly,
Ms. K& Mrs. Zavala

🚗 A Gentle Reminder: Parking Lot Safety & Patience

As we head into these busy final weeks of school, we want to kindly ask for your continued patience and cooperation during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.
To ensure the safety of every Hummingbird, please remember that passing other cars in the loading zone is not permitted. While it may feel tempting to bypass the queue, maintaining one single line is essential for student safety. When we all follow the same flow, the process actually becomes smoother, safer, and quicker for everyone.
Thank you for being mindful of our students’ safety and for treating our staff and fellow parents with kindness as we work together to keep our parking lot secure!

Hummingbird Highlights

🍎 Celebrating Our Incredible Educators

Our teachers are the heart and soul of Santa Rita Elementary. Day in and day out, they go above and beyond to inspire, nurture, and challenge our Hummingbirds to reach their full potential. Their dedication doesn't just stop at lesson plans—they build a community where every child feels seen and valued.

As a small token of our immense gratitude, the Administration team and our wonderful staff came together to host a special Teacher Appreciation Potluck. It was a joy to see our educators take a well-deserved break to enjoy a delicious meal and celebrate one another.
