Happy Sunday Hummingbird Families,

Welcome to Parent-Teacher Conference Week! We are looking forward to welcoming our parents and guardians onto campus for these important meetings.

⏰ Early Dismissal Reminder: Please note that we will have early dismissal at 1:10 PM every day this week to accommodate our conference schedule. Please make sure arrangements are in place for your scholar's pickup!

Attending your conference is one of the best ways to partner with us in your child’s education. It gives you a clear picture of their academic progress and current goals, while allowing teachers to learn more about your child from your perspective. By connecting home and school together, we create a strong foundation to help every Hummingbird grow and thrive.

Here are a few key updates for the week ahead:

🍦 September Attendance Challenge Finale: Our month-long attendance competition wraps up this Wednesday! We will announce the winning class shortly after, and students in the winning class will celebrate with a Popsicle Party with the Principal.
🗓️ Preliminary October Calendar: We have attached a preview of our October calendar so you can get a head start on planning for upcoming events and key dates.
🎃 Trunk or Treat Preparation: We are beginning preparations for our annual Trunk or Treat! This community favorite relies on the support of our amazing families. Please consider signing up to decorate a trunk, donate candy, or volunteer to help out. Look for sign-up details below.

💬 Hummingbird Home Connection

Since families will be meeting for Parent-Teacher Conferences this week to talk about student growth, it is a great time to reflect on personal goals at home:

Family Talk Prompt: "Since we are talking about your progress at school this week, what is one goal you have for yourself in your classroom, and what is one small thing we can do together at home to help you reach it?"

Tip: Encourage your scholar to share their thoughts using full sentences and goal-oriented language (e.g., "My goal is to..." or "We can practice by..."). You can also share a personal goal of your own to model how setting and working toward goals is a lifelong habit!

Take a break from cooking and bring the family out for dinner! Join our Santa Rita community for a Chipotle fundraiser night on Tuesday, October 6th to help raise funds for our school events. Share the news with your friends, family, and neighbors—the more people who order, the more we raise for our school!
